Mother African Union First Colored Methodist Protestant Church Funeral Policies

1. Funeral services will be planned with the Senior Pastor as soon as possible after a person has passed. We encourage members of the family to notify the senior pastor and ministerial staff immediately following the death of a loved one.
2. The Senior Pastor will notify the Ministerial Staff and Steward Board of the passing of church members or family of church members.
3. The Pastor will confer with Board of Trustee president, or designee, about the church availability and scheduling of funeral.
4. When Mother Church is not the host church, non-member fess will be in effect.
5. No one can bring food into the church because of insurance liabilities, unless they are a certified and licensed caterer. The caterer must sign a disclaimer/agreement releasing the church from liability with food issues.
6. Funeral Fees
- a. Active Church Members
  - Mother African Union Church will cover the cost of serving a repast for the first 100 family/friends of active members in the previous year, or until the person became ill for those who have been ill/shut-in for some time. The family will be asked to donate $15 per person to serve additional members over 100. The church will do the same for the spouse of active church members and children under the age of 21.
- b .Family of Active Church members, other than spouse or children under 21
  - Mother Church will not cover the cost of having the funeral, here at the church, including building costs, utilities, in-house musicians, etc. Repast is not covered by church.
- c. When Mother Church is not the host, non-member fees are in affect.
7. Full payment is due 3 – 5 days before the services with limited exceptions.

Funeral Fees (Not Active or Non-Members)

To cover the cost of utilities and maintenance the following charges will be made. A $100.00 deposit must be paid when your date is confirmed on the church calendar. Payment arrangements can be made for the remaining balance. A $100 security deposit required for the use of the kitchen and will be returned based on the condition of the kitchen.

Funeral Fees (Active Church Members)

Mother African Union Church will cover the cost of having the funeral, here at the church, at no initial cost to the family. This will include: Building costs, In-house musicians and choirs; Food for the repast; utensils, setting up tables, cleaning, etc. for up to 100 persons. More than 100 persons, the family will contribute $15.00 per person. (Example – 130 people = $450… 200 people = $1500.00) The use of one (1) quiet room/meeting room has been included in the fee.

Mother African Union Church will cover the cost of having the funeral, here at the church, at no initial cost to the family. This will include: Building costs, In-house musicians and choirs. Food for the repast; utensils, setting up tables, cleaning, etc., the family will contribute $15.00 per person. The use of one (1) quiet room/meeting room has been included in the fee.
